A good faith app can help a busy family read the Bible, pray and talk about God a little more often. The wrong one just adds noise to a phone that already has plenty. This guide looks at eight well-known Christian apps, what each does well, what it costs and who it suits.
One note before we start. We make Better Human, one of the apps below, so read our entry with that in mind. We have kept it to plain facts and tried to give every other app a fair hearing. Prices are in US dollars as of October 2026, from the App Store and the apps’ own sites. Prices change, so check before you subscribe.

How to choose
Start with what is free. YouVersion, the Bible App for Kids and Superbook cost nothing, and together they cover a lot. Then ask a few questions.
- Who is it for? Hallow, Abide, Dwell and Bible Chat are mainly for grown-ups, with some content for kids. The Bible App for Kids, Superbook and Minno are made for children. Better Human has parts for both.
- Does it fit your tradition? Hallow is Catholic-first. Bible Chat adapts to your denomination. Read the description and try a few minutes before you commit.
- What happens when the trial ends? Note the date and check which plan follows. You can cancel any App Store subscription in your iPhone’s Settings.
- What can your kids reach? Look for ads, open chat and public posts in anything a child uses alone. Set it up yourself first.
- Will you use it together? The apps that help most are the ones you open side by side, at the table, in the car or at bedtime.
Give one app a couple of weeks before you add another. And remember that the app is only a helper. The teaching still happens at home, in ordinary moments.
“These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6–7
