The story

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had one hundred sheep. One day, one little sheep wandered away and got lost. The shepherd left the ninety-nine sheep together and went to look for the one that was missing. He searched and searched until he found it. Then he lifted the sheep onto his shoulders and carried it home, full of joy. He called his friends and neighbors and asked them to celebrate with him. Jesus said there is joy like that in heaven when one person who has gone the wrong way comes back to God. Every one of us matters that much to God, and he keeps looking for us until we are found.
